A NEW HOSPITAL SUPPLIED WITH DEDICATED LAYETTES

We sent an introductory supply of our layettes to Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Torrance, California, hospital #247.  This is an important addition to our list of hospitals because this is the hospital featured in the recent movie, RETURN TO ZERO. Each of the layettes contained a small card reading, "DONATED in MEMORY of  NORBERT KREKORIAN HANISH. 7/12/2005". This is a true story of Love, Loss and Hope, written and directed by the Hanish's. Return to Zero is available on amazon.com. We are pleased to provide our gifts to this hospital so that future families will have appropriate clothing for viewing their baby 'born sleeping' and items to keep for memorial keepsakes. Thanks for the Hanish's for producing this important film.

WELCOME ALASKA HOSPITALS!

We have a special "Angel", Nancy A. from Anchorage, along with her volunteer group, has supplied nearly every hospital in Alaska, with our tiny layettes made for early loss pregnancies.
Nancy recruited many Alaskan natives to help as well as a sister in Michigan and others feeling the need to work on this project.  Minutes of Gold represents caring people that spend "Minutes" with their handwork in helping grieving families that only have "Minutes" to spend with their tiny family member, born sleeping.  Listing below are the 23 cities served:
Anchorage (3), Barrow, Bethel, Cordova, Dillingham, Elmondorf, Fairbanks, Homer, Juneau, Ketchikan, Kodiak, Kotzebue, Nome, Palmer, Petersburg, Seward, Sitka (2), Soldotna, Valdez and Wrangell.  A big Kudoo to Nancy and all that have helped to touch the lives of many, many people.

AN INFORMATIVE MESSAGE FROM A BRAVE "MOM"

Three years ago I had no idea Minutes of Gold existed. Their volunteers make tiny bereavement garments for babies born too soon, and donate the items to hospitals. Garments for babies like my girls. My two tiny little daughters were dressed and wearing tiny hats and wrapped in blankets thanks to Minutes of Gold.  I talk to them. I look at their pictures. I keep them on my dresser.  In their pictures it looks like they are sleeping.
Every 20 minutes a mother loses a baby from a preterm or still birth.  Every day 116 mothers in America join me.
On January 21, 2011, and then again on February 4, 2011; I became a statistic. I became a face of pregnancy loss. My loss has altered the course of my life. I only carried them for 21 and 23 weeks respectively but my girls changed me forever.
It’s been three years now, but I still wonder… “Would Tierney still look like me? Would Eden still look like her dad?”
I am grateful to Minutes of Gold because they recognized these are tiny babies, not just numbers in a statistical listing.
